Hello! My name is Mai Huynh. I was born in St. Paul, raised in Apple Valley, and currently live in Minneapolis. After receiving my B.S. in Foundations of Elementary Education, I moved to Bangkok, Thailand in which I taught at an American international school for two years as a 5th grade classroom teacher. Missing my friends and family, I moved back to Minnesota in 2008.
Upon moving back, I was a 1st grade classroom teacher for five years. During that time, I also completed my M.Ed in Elementary Education. For the last three years, I have been working in North Minneapolis as a K-3 reading interventionist and a literacy coach. I’m currently enrolled at Hamline University and hope to have my reading license by 2017.
When I’m not working, I spend an incredible amount of time eating and drinking my way through the Twin Cities with my family and friends. I also spend a considerable amount of my time (and income) traveling the world.
